Did you know that The Marine Mammal Center occasionally rescues sea turtles? Sea turtles typically do not come onshore in Northern California, where the Center is located, so a sea turtle found within our rescue range is most likely "cold-stunned" (hypothermic) and in need of rescue. At the Center, we very gradually warm rescued sea turtles up before transferring them to partner organizations south of our range for additional rehabilitation.
